I was doing chores near Mark's place today, so after I was done, I went over there and played some Zoo Tycoon while he played more Borderlands 2. Who knew keeping a zoo would involve picking up so much poo. That should be a poem.

All Gen Gamers had a rare podcast recently and they mentioned this web site Play DOS games online. It has thousands of old dos games that you can play right in your browser, no download required and no fee. I'm super excited because they have Wizardry: Crusaders of the Dark Savant, a 1992 RPG that I've always wanted to play. This is going to help me immeasurably in my slow progress through the past. In March I'm going to be looking at 1969, too old for dos games (MS-DOS is 1981-1995), but I'll get to them eventually.

A similar dumb joke was made in Borderlands 2, the game Mark and I played after visiting Longwood Gardens to take photos of orchids.

Just left my job the other day, so now I'm kinda down. So I went to Mark's and played games all day. It's what I do to recharge. It didn't work much. We're going to shoot photos tomorrow 'cause it's going to be some kind of warm and sunny. - like record breaking warm. I guess that's good but I'll likely still be down. Anyway, here's the breakdown of what I played today.

My next rental game is on the way and it's Tales of Berseria! I'm really going to have a tough choice this weekend with Halo Wars 2, still unwrapped, ready to go. I guess I'll start Tales first because I haven't booted up my PS4 in a while, and I miss it. Halo Wars 2 can wait because I own it, and it isn't going anywhere.

I was thinking today of how I played my first games. I think I played in a normal way back in the 80s. On Atari 2600, I played a lot of different stuff, but what I most played were simulations of the sports I was playing, tennis and baseball. Also, I didn't have all the consoles like I have today. I only had an Atari. My friends in the neighborhood had the other consoles, and I'd go there to play them. That's how I experienced the Intellivision and Colecovision. I would go to the arcades on the weekends to play the best that was available in gaming. Games were short and it was rare to spend more than an hour or two on any one game.

I got it with trade-in money. I knocked down my Xbox 360 and Wii collections a bit to do it.
