Happy Valentine's Day everybody!

I definitely took my sweetass time (More on Why Later) getting around to grading some papers this weekend, which means students will get them back Wednesday. I had them marked up, but this was one where the grading will be a bit weird because there are things they should know by now, but also some stuff I haven't gone over I won't take off for. So that will be "fun." 

Played a bit of Lego Batman 3. Finished Europe in there level. Shrinky town.

Ever since I read daftman's blog about Castlevania coming to Netflix, I've just been listening to this YouTube video with all the different versions of "Bloody Tears" throughout the series.

I'm not in my office, so this is literally just going up to say it's here.

I'm exhausted from our department's Super Media Bowl, but at the same time glad to have gone. The panelists all had great things to say that I can now relay to my non-extra-credit-getting students who didn't go depsite classes being cancelled. I understand not being able to show up to the whole thing (some students had legit excuses like test review in another class or doc appointment), but when an event meant to help you network and prepare for your career goes on from 9:30am to 4pm, you're excused from classes (I actually gave academic affairs a list of all my students to excuse them from EVERY class they had today) and given extra credit to go, why in the hell do you not at least attend the sessions happening during your now nonexistent class time? It's mind boggling how lazy that is. 

Well, not really, just not sure how I want to grade some of these short answer questions. Going back and forth on a system allowing for half points or one where they either got it right or wrong altogether. I'm not taking points off for minor spelling errors, just correcting their mistakes. 

Finished The Milkman Conspiracy last night in Psychonauts, now I'm in a woman's head trying to put plays together in a specific order that will allow me to fight a phantom on the catwalk. I think I know who the phantom is ... but I stopped playing, cause I didn't feel like trial and erroring last night. You have to produce the right plays on the right stage for everything to fall in place. It's a fun puzzle, but not something I wanted to do last night. 

Too tired yesterday to game at all. Just YouTube videos. 

I may or may not have waited until 6am this morning to finish grading papers I was supposed to hand back Monday. Really gotta check this professorial senioritis of mine before something I do looks bad on a resume. We're good for now though, I got those handed back today. Might have been less careful with time cause they all got 100s either way, just marked up their writing and showed them what they WOULD get were it later in the semester.
