My birthday is coming up soon (September 15 to be exact), but the presents are for you! You get game reviews to read that I’ve recently written over at GamerDad.com! Just what you wanted, right? Right? Anyway, please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. And just for fun, why don’t you send me a pretend birthday present in the comments section? It’s the thought that counts, literally! OK, let’s begin!
Pac-Man: The Official Cookbook
Recently a cookbook featuring Pac-Man was released. You know me, the biggest Pac-Man fan around, I had to have it. So let’s take a look inside and see what it’s like!
Donkey Kong Bananza is the newest 3D platformer on Nintendo Switch 2, and of course they made an amiibo figure out of it. And of course I got it, too, so let’s take a look at it.
I’m about to show just how old I am. I remember when my dad got our first computer. I was around kindergarten age, and the computer was an Apple ][+. We had it through most of my Elementary School years I think. Anyway, after we got it, sometimes my dad would bring home a case of floppy disks home from work. I would put each one in, not knowing what I’d get. Sometimes it would be a boring application. And sometimes it wouldn’t work at all. But sometimes it would have games that I’d like. That’s how I discovered titles like Snack Attack, Lode Runner, Drol, Hard Hat Mack, Spare Change, Choplifter, Aquatron, and more! Now granted, looking back on it now, I think most of those games were pirated, but I don’t think either me or my dad knew what that was at the time. Anyway, that grab bag of gaming fun is the feeling I get when playing UFO 50, a collection of 50 8-bit styled games.
Join a pair of cats as they walk through a traditional summer Japanese festival. Play mini-games, earn prizes, and collect furniture and items you can use to decorate your own village.
In Maiden City, the police force and most of the population are made up of ladies who are half human, half animal. OK, a little weird, but at least it’s a bit more imaginative. Anyway, play as one of three ladies in the Maiden Cops police force as you take down a gang of liberators who are trying to take over the city in this beat ‘em up that’s clearly inspired by classics such as Final Fight and Streets of Rage.
Secret Paws: Cozy Offices (PS4)
Find little cats hidden all over office cubicles in Secret Paws: Cozy Offices. It’s like a hidden picture hide and seek Easter egg hunt kind of game.
Help a little green alien escape from a secret laboratory in Alien Breakout. It’s a 2-D precision platformer with some run and gun elements.
Help a little yellow bird with sunglasses compete against his evil mohawk wearing rival Hawkee in Toree Saturn. It’s a 3D platformer clearly inspired by Sonic games on Dreamcast. You’ll run through almost a dozen stages using speed boosters and skill to get ahead.
And that’s all for now! Thanks for reading and posting ‘likes’ and comments on my reviews. I do appreciate it. And don’t forget those pretend birthday presents! Later! --Cary
