Another genre I like to go to when hunting achievements is the story based game or walking simulator. I feel like these are the modern day equivalents of the point-and-click adventure that used to be a thing. Usually they are fairly short games and deliver their achievements pretty easily. Sometimes, I even enjoy them. Lake was one of these.
This is a third-person view game. You play as a woman on a break from her lucrative but high energy city job. She has returned to her childhood hometown which is in a rural setting around a large lake. Her parents have gone on their own vacation to Florida. She watches the house and takes over her father's rural route postal delivery job for the duration.
What you do in the game is deliver mail and packages to the residences and businesses around the lake community in your postal vehicle. Along the way she reconnects with her childhood friends and meets a few new people as well. You have some choices in the dialog with these people that give you different outcomes. Ultimately though there are three end results to the game.
I really loved exploring the areas around the lake in my postal truck. I could easily enjoy this kind of career if I ever had an opportunity.
Howlongtobeat.com says the game takes 6 hours. I don't know if it took that long for me but I beat it over a weekend and then returned to grab any achievements I missed. The only ones were for a few areas I had forgot to explore and the two other alternate endings. Luckily I didn't have to replay the whole game for the other endings. The last autosave is at the beginning of the last day and you can then choose a different path at the end of that game-day, which only takes a half hour at most.
The developer is Gamious based in the Netherlands. They did another game I tried once called Turmoil which is a simulation of a 19th century oil drilling company and town. Pretty neat.
