I had to work today but at the right time, so I was able to visit my friend's place and my Xbox in the late afternoon. I knocked off a Xbox rewards quest and a Game Pass rewards quest before diving back into my attempted completionist run of Dark Void. 

Gnome's Garden: A New Home: Xbox Rewards has a daily 50 points for an achievement this week so I played Gnomes Garden to get it for today. I played several levels before one popped. Some of the levels seemed a little bigger and more complex than in previous games. There were even buildings set on some maps just to distract and waste your time. I actually finished one particular level with no stars at all. That's not happened to me before. I'm glad though. The game could stand a bit more challenge. 

Madden NFL 2021: This was a Game Pass weekly challenge. I just had to play one online match. Without any tutorial, I was able to play because I had played Madden 2020 only a few months ago. Controls were almost the same but I had some trouble on defense breaking through the line. I wasn't sure which button to hit to push a lineman aside. In 2020 a highlighted button letter would appear, but in this version there was none. My opponent tried to run the quarterback a lot. He was successful until I moved my lineman to shadow him and stop him from doing that. Interceptions happened on both sides. He tried to fake a punt and failed. He must've gotten mad because he quit the game. The score was 0-0 so there was little reason for it, but I got my Game Pass points. 

Dark Void: I got my 20 UFOs hijacked for an achievement and decided to get some others like kills while hovering, ground kills while flying and grenade kills on airborne enemies. I am working on a few others. I've nearly upgraded all the weapons. I've raised the difficulty to gain more points for upgrades. I might even try hardcore difficulty to see if I can run the game with my upgraded weapons. They do a lot of damage now. The game really isn't very long. With skipping all the cutscenes it's even shorter. I am, however, feeling the draw of other games and want to wrap this one up soon. It's nice to be obsessed with a single game again though. Just like old times.
