One of the great original RPGs for the iPhone, I'm told, is Solomon's Keep where you try to take down the evil necromancer Solomon Dark. I've never played it but it's supposed to be quite good. The game we're taking about today, Solomon's Boneyard, is a prequel and more of an twin stick action game with RPG elements layered on top. Due to story reasons (Solomon has to live to be the villain of the original game) you can't "win" this game, and you play as long as possible to get a high score before succumbing to the undead hordes. You choose which character to play as: a wizard with homing blasts, a mage fire magic, a witch with lightning powers, or a frosty icebinder (I think there are unlockable characters too). They all play very differently and none of them is obviously the best. You level up as you kill enemies and get to pick a new perk to stack on top of the others each time. It's a really fun game and I've only scratched the surface. I hear there are boss monsters, though I haven't seen one yet. The lighting is also really impressive as all the tombstones cast dynamic shadows as you move around. This one is definitely worth a look.
