I put in my 2 weeks yesterday at Chili's and went in today to put the final ink in with Marie Callendar's. They're going to pay me a good piece more than Chili's was paying me, and only to cook....no more of this "cook for 3 hours, then go set up the dish room, clear the dish room, then come back and cook" bullshit.
When I went in today, my new boss told me he wanted me to start tomorrow. I was ecstatic, but worried...I have a shift on the line tomorrow at Chili's, and I'm typically exhausted by the time I get to clock out; being as I'd be training tomorrow night at Callendar's, I'd be expected to absorb everything happening around me. That just doesn't work for me when I'm tired.
So I called my boss at Chili's and told him I'm sorry, but I won't be seeing it through to the end on my 2 week notice. Actually, I told one of his underlings, as he was too busy to talk to me on the phone. I would've gone down there but the wife is gone with our car right now.
Do I feel bad? Maybe just a little bit. But It'll pass. I was doing waaaaaay too much for 10 bucks an hour at Chili's.
it does such when you can't make the full 2 weeks but what can you do when other work is offered at a better rate. their is a reason why chillis is offering sign on bonuses for new employees. Not many should put up with having to do more than one job and call it "mulit-tasking" when it was done by priors before.
Not liking how customer service jobs are becoming. congrats on the new work. will read ahead to see if you say more about it later.
